The team behind CandidateGo are investing in AI research, including working with our local university, to develop technology that can improve the experiences of schools, education recruitment agencies and supply staff when it comes to sourcing, checking data, and successfully integrating temporary staff into the school environment.
AI in EdTech (Educational Technology) is not a new concept. It is already transforming lots of areas within education, such as how educational content can be delivered, personalised and assessed.
Intelligent tutoring systems can provide real-time feedback and support to students, simulating one-on-one tutoring. They can identify areas where students struggle and offer targeted exercises. In some instances, they can utilise natural language processing to engage in conversation with students.
AI can also be used to streamline grading, especially for multiple-choice and short-answer formats. Benefits can include faster feedback for students and reducing teacher workload, allowing teaching staff to focus on time teaching in the classroom.
But the area that we here at CandidateGo are specifically interested in is how AI can streamline activities around the management and training of supply teachers. How can AI help make sure candidates are compliant and, importantly, offer proof of this? How can different platforms that are involved in candidate selection, training, and induction integrate with one another to share important data that can be accessed all in one place by schools? How can we eliminate the duplication of administration tasks when sourcing supply staff, and what can help the process of those staff being seamlessly integrated into a school setting?
We are currently putting together a panel of school trusts, educational recruitment agencies, and technology specialists to dig deeper into these questions and see what solutions AI can offer.
